The Fire Safe Council of San Diego County is a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing fire safety awareness and preparedness, managing fire hazards, and supporting forest health in San Diego County.

Fire Safe Councils are regionally organized education, and advocacy groups that can help take action in a neighborhood.  If you don't have one in your community you can start one with two other people.  They are one way to come up with a community wildfire protection plan and coordinate efforts and receive grant funding from the available funding sources. Currently, San Diego is the highest populated place in California receiving the least amount of CalFire grants funding for projects.
